Vessel owner Tidewater and Angolan state oil company Sonangol have agreed to extend their existing Sonatide joint venture (JV) agreement until March 31, 2013 in order to allow the two parties to continue JV restructuring negotiations. The original agreement has been extended a number of times while new terms are discussed, and Tidewater stated "several constructive meetings" were held last year, concerning the commercial relationship between Tidewater and Sonangol. Sonatide has continued to enter into new vessel contracts during these negotiations, some of which extend into 2014.
