Staples Solutions to offload German businesses

Staples Solutions has agreed to sell its retail and online operations in Germany to Netherlands-based Office Centre for an undisclosed sum. The deal comes just a few weeks after Staples agreed to sell its units in France, Italy and Spain to European packaging specialist RAJA Group. Office Centre had already acquired Staples' retail network in the Netherlands last year, and Staples Solutions CEO Dolph Westerbos said the latest transaction was "a natural next step", adding: "This further simplifies our business and allows Staples Solutions to focus on growing our core B2B contract business, serving mid-sized to large enterprise customers as well as public institutions."
