HP unveils iPad challenger

HP has revealed details of its new tablet device based on the WebOS platform it acquired when it bought Palm last year. Called the TouchPad, the tablet is set to go head to head with Apple's hugely successful iPad when it goes on sale this summer, and on first glance appears loaded with interesting features. HP didn't give details of pricing or availability, but there are rumours of a $699 price tag in the US. At the same time, HP announced two new slider smartphones - the Pre3 and Veer-which can interface with the TouchPad.
