Seafood processors need to see traceability not as a compliance cost but as a competitive advantage. Key to this paradigm shift is data. To generate commercial insights from predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms need to be trained on data that is comprehensive, clean, and complete. Data needs to cover all variables to create a robust and accurate model. Dirty or erroneous data needs to be removed to not weaken models. And datasets need to be complete to ensure there is enough data to build models.
