Employers still have concerns about the forthcoming replacement of the sick note with the fit note.rnIn a snapshot survey of fifty employers in both the public and private sectors many said that they need more information on how the fit note system should be implemented by them and expressed concerns about the potential extra work it will create for HR departments and line managers. There were also concerns about GPs ability to deal with occupational health issues.rnUnder the fit note system, which is set to be introduced next year, as well as indicating whether arnpatient is fit or not fit for work for benefit and sick pay purposes, GPs will be able to record information about whether there are any changes to an employee's work environment or job role which could help in achieving an early/ earlier return to work. For example, if the employee has a problem with mobility, suggesting a job where they can work sitting down rather than standing up.
