The owner of a faulty fairground ride and an inspector who declared it safe have both been fined after two people were thrown from the ride when seating collapsed. Aylesbury Crown Court heard the ground-level spinning machine which bounces riders as it turns, failed due to corroded structural steel work on the seating. HSE said the corrosion was sig-nificant and clear to see, and should have been identified by the ride owner, Michael Searle, and during an inspection by Michael Rodgers, director of Fairground Inspection Services Ltd.
