Carefully compiled and edited, this volume demands devoted reading and study by serious seekers of relevant wisdom, rules and performance. This may be a problem for those who habitually switch off until the last paragraph of the book - even better, Page 1, Chapter One. They may indeed be put off by a four-page list of contributors, two forewords, a preface, a dedication and list of acknowledgements; leaving only the list of termsrnand abbreviations - and, with luck, the introduction. Surely a little inoffensive editorial shuffling could provide a more logical sequence of contents for the eager but impatient reader.
