Electrical testing

Every year, electricity causes injuries and death to people in the workplace. In the nine-year period up to 2009/10, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recorded 96 workplace deaths involving contact with electricity or electrical discharge. In the same period there were 1,077 major injuries to employees and self-employed personnel reported under RIDDOR, and over 3,300 electrical-related 'over 3 day' injuries. Not included in the figures above are the personal injuries and the damage and disruption to businesses caused by fires that are started by poor or faulty electrical appliances and installations.
