New chairman for ISPEMA

Mr. T. G. Shand, retiring chairman of the Industrial Safety (Protective Equipment) Manufacturers' Association, invests the new chairman. Col. N. L. Fretten, with the Association's badge of office, at the 11th annual general meeting and luncheon held on 28 January 1971. Dr. G. H. Beeby, a vice-president of RoSPA, proposed the health of the Association and said how vital it was that employees engaged in industry should be familiar with the safety and protective equipment that was available. He suggested that the Association should participate in more exhibitions staged in local industrial centres. Col. Fretten in reply said that it was an important part of the activities of the Association to ensure that safety officers were kept informed of all new developments and hoped that eventually a national exhibition could be mounted.
