Safety bonus

A hospital safety climate that focuses on safer patient care may also enhance worker safety, a study carried out in NHS hospitals in Scotland has found. Analysis of the data showed that hospital safety climate scores were significantly correlated with workers' safety behaviours, and with worker and patient injury rates. Workers' perceptions of staffing levels and managerial commitment also strongly predicted all the safety outcome measures in the study.
