In the UK, health and wellbeing at work have been a key focus at many workplaces over the last few years. However, in April this year, a survey of 1,078 organisations from across the country - with a total of 3.2 million employees - found "organisations remain divided in how strategically and proactively they approach employee wellbeing" with around 400 of the organisations that took part in the survey having a standalone wellbeing strategy and about the same number reacting to situations as they come up rather than proactively putting in place wellbeing policies. One in six of the organisations that took part in the Simply Health/ CIPD Health and Wellbeing at Work 2019 survey~2 said they are not doing anything to improve employee wellbeing.
