Employer support is important in enabling employees with chronic health conditions to manage their symptoms and medication at work, according to a study of 772 employees in four large organisations across three employment sectors. Participants were recruited using questionnaires sent out via the OH departments (28% response). Just over one-quarter reported a doctor-diagnosed chronic illness - the majority (81%) had disclosed their illness to their line manager, while just over half (54%) had disclosed their illness to the OH department.
