From 1 February 2012, the following changes to the limits and amounts payable under unfair dismissal and other employment legislation1 came into effect: the limit on the amount of compensation for unfair dismissal increased from £68,400 to £72,300 the maximum amount of a week's pay for the purposes of calculating a redundancy payment or for various awards including the basic or additional award of compensation for unfair dismissal increased from £400 to £430 the minimum amount of compensation where an individual is excluded or expelled from a union in contravention of s.174 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, and is not admitted or re-admitted by the date of the tribunal application, increased from £7,600 to £8,100.
