1. For OH nurses, the average (mean) amount paid for indemnity cover annually is £226 (median = £197) 2. For OH physicians, the average (mean) amount paid for indemnity cover annually is £3,765 (median = £4,000) 3. Most OH physicians (79%) are not concerned about the changes to indemnity legislation 4. Around half (51%) of OH nurses are concerned about the changes to indemnity legislation 5. A quarter (25%) of OH physicians are extremely dissatisfied with the cost of their indemnity cover 6. Following the change to the RCN scheme, employed nurses are not always confident that their employer has appropriate indemnity cover in place 7. The proposed single OH organisation-to be created by the joining of the Society of Occupational Medicine and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine - may provide indemnity cover in the future.
