The plans for the triennial revalidation of nurses - driven by the recommendations of the Francis Report into the failings of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust between 2005 and 2009 - are becoming clearer. At their heart is compliance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code, the new draft of which has bloated from eight to 25 pages, and any discussion of revalidation must start with a closer look at it.
