Working with HIV

1. Around 90,000 people in the UK are known to be HIV positive, with a further 18,000 thought to be undiagnosed 2. The availability of effective antiretroviral drugs means people living with HIV in industrialised nations can now expect to live healthy lives with little impact on life expectancy; however, employment rates are lower than for people without HIV 3. The two main barriers to employment for people living with HIV are disability and stigma.
