The digital I/O specifications for the MyRIO unit are: inputs are 5V TTL compatible; outputs are 3.3V LVTTL at 4 mA sinking or sourcing. These low voltage and current levels are not suitable to directly drive much of anything other than an LED. There are, however, several devices available that can boost the outputs of the MyRIO up to any level of AC or DC voltage and current you would typically want to control in the real world. There are other devices available that can convert about any level of AC or DC voltages back into a suitable level for the MyRIO to input from. Most of these devices also provide protection from high voltage levels entering back into the MyRIO unit, as well as the PC that might be connected to it.
