Westinghouse signs agreements with UK firms for AP1000 supplies

Westinghouse has signed a series of agreements to help it build the AP1000 reactor in the UK. Three separate memoranda of understanding were signed with BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Doosan Babcock, Westinghouse said September 4, adding the MOLJs were part of its strategy to "buy where we build." Under the non-exclusive agreements, the companies would provide services in design, production, fabrication and integration of modules, component manufacturing, onsite erection and assembly of components, and safety and technical support, Westinghouse said in a statement.
