摘要

National Nuclear Security Administration officials last week defended plans to give the contractor that ultimately takes over its consolidated nuclear production contract the flexibility to restructure the workforce against continued criticism from union workers worried about being squeezed out of jobs under the new contractor. Union officials have bristled at language in procurement documents noting that the new contract would not protect incumbent employees, and a handful of Pantex Plant union workers left the first of three public meetingsrnabout the NNSA's plans last week still worried about their future. While the incumbent employees won't be protected under the new contract, Patty Wagner, the chair of the procurement's Source Evaluation Board, said that all employees in mission-critical positions would be given the right of first refusal to keep their jobs.
