HSS CHIEF DEFENDS CHANGES AS PART OF DOE REFORM EFFORT

The head of the Department of Energy's Office of Health, Safety and Security defended his office's role in leading DOE's management reform initiative, saying that HSS's efforts to eliminate unnecessary orders and directives, cut back on inspections and retool the enforcement process were part of a plan to help make the Department more efficient.
