The National Nuclear Security Administration is changing leadership at the top of one of its biggest construction projects and is expected to replace Scott Cannon, the federal project director on the pit disassembly and conversion project at the Savannah River Site, with Tom Cantey. Cantey has most recently served as the federal project director on another NNSA plutonium disposition proj ect at the Savannah River Site, the Waste Solidification Building that will support the $4.86 million Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility under construction, and though no official announcement of the change has been made, NW&M Monitor has learned that the switch is imminent.
