Following a three-month shutdown, the longest maintenancenoutage of the year and the longest in recent years,nthe High Flux Isotope Reactor was restarted on May 7 andnreturned to full power (85 megawatts) operations. RonnCrone, Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s reactor chief, saidnthe top-to-bottom maintenance should serve the reactornwell and help provide a reliable base of operations fornresearch and isotope production throughout the summernmonths.
