LOS ALAMOS REPORTEDLY PULLS CHINA-LINKED COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

Los Alamos National Laboratory has removed somencomputer network switches made by H3C, a Chinesencompany once connected to the Chinese-governmentnlinked Huawei Technologies, Co., according to a Reuters report. Citing a Nov. 5, 2012, lab letter, Reuters reportednthat the switches’ discovery appears to be connected to anfederal review of possible connections between thenChinese government and military and the country’sntechnology companies. The House Permanent SelectnCommittee on Intelligence, in a report last October, singlednout Huawei, saying sensitive U.S. government systemsnshould not include components made by the Chinesentelecommunications giant.
