A U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection report on groundwater contamination at the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant concludes that the public was exposed to a minimal and insignificant amount of radiation.rnThe plant, located in Vernon (Windham County), Vt., is operated by Entergy Nuclear. NRC was investigating Entergy's response to the leaking of radioactive liquid into groundwater earlier this year, as well as the company's implementation of the Groundwater Protection Initiative instituted by the nuclear power industry in 2007.
