Projected Cost Of MOX Fuel Plan At SRS Increases To $7.7 Billion

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has reported the projected cost of the mixed oxide (MOX) fuel plant at Savannah River Site (SRS) has increased to $7.7 billion, up by $2.8 billion from the previous estimate, and will take three years longer than planned to complete.
