The European Commission announced its official position on plans for the disposal of radioactive waste from the decommissioning of Units 1 and 2 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant in Bulgaria. Bulgaria's State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SERAW) reports that the commission has concluded that the proposed disposal plan "is not liable to result in a radioactive contamination significant from the point of view of health of the water, soil or airspace of another (European Union) member state."
