One-third of control rods at Kozloduy-5 fail

According to an April 25 event report to the INES (International Nuclear Event Scale) information system, three control rods failed to descend during an automatic power reduction initiated when a main circulation pump tripped at Kozloduy-5 on March 1. Further investigations revealed that 22 of a total of 61 control rods would not descend.
