Westinghouse picks Doosan for China's AP1000s

Westinghouse Electric Company announced on April 27 that it has signed a letter of intent with Doosan Heavy Industries, ofrnSouth Korea, under which the latter would provide two reactor vessels and four steam generators for the AP1000 reactors that are to be built in China. The value of the transaction was not disclosed. Four Westinghouse rnAP1000s are to be built in China, two each at Haiyang and Sanmen. It is expected that the vessels and steam generators for the other two reactors will be supplied by Chinese companies.
