COL applications docketed for North Anna-3, Calvert Cliffs-3 partial

Dominion virginia power was the fourth organization to submit an application related to a combined construction and operating license (COL) to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, but it has earned the distinction of being the first to make it through the NRC's acceptance review process with no caveats or conditions. On January 28, the NRC informed Dominion that its COL application for North Anna-3 has been docketed. Three days earlier, the NRC had docketed UniStar Nuclear's partial COL application for Calvert Cliffs-3, also with no conditions, but this was after UniStar had to submit additional material over a five-month period following an NRC ruling that the submission did not provide enough information to allow the agency to carry out an acceptance review.
