TWO NOMINEES FOR DOE POSITIONS WERE ANNOUNCED

Two nominees for doe positions were announced rnin mid-April by the Obama administration. The White House said that it would nominate Daniel B. Poneman for deputy secretary of energy, and William F. Brinkman for director of the Department of Energy's Office of Science. Poneman is currently a principal in the Scowcroft Group, a business consultancy based in Washington, D.C. Brinkman is a senior research physicist in the Physics Department at Princeton University. Both appointments require confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
