Surface contamination monitor Canberra's Sirius-5 hand, cuff, and foot surface contamination monitor detects external contamination on the hands and feet of personnel. It is available with either six gas low-flow proportional detectors for alpha and beta detection, or six gasless thin plastic scintillator detectors for beta or alpha/beta sensitive operations. The Sirius-5 uses a background trending software with an optimized counting geometry to measure both sides of the hands, the cuffs, and the soles of the feet in one step. It has a vertical orientation that minimizes detector contamination and is fully compliant with IEC 61098 Standard requirements. The Sirius-5 is suitable for use in nuclear power plants, fuel cycle facilities, and laboratory environments.
