According to a number of news sources, a tender for Egypt's first nuclear plant was about to be issued just days before mass demonstrations against the regime of President Hosni Mubarak erupted across the country. Two of Egypt's largest construction contractors had just announced that they had formed a joint venture to bid on Egypt's first nuclear power plant in early February.
