Homeland security research could net $25 000 prize

Nominations for the 2011 Homeland Security Awards are being accepted through June 14 by the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation. Four awards of $25 000 each will be presented by the foundation, an independent federal government agency established by Congress in 1992 to "support research, study, and labor designed to produce new discoveries in all fields of endeavor for the benefit of mankind," and by AgustaWestland North America (a Fin-meccanica company), one of the largest helicopter manufacturers in the world.
