The iplex ys industrial videoscope from Olympus NDT is a remote visual inspection tool for difficult-to-reach areas. It has an abrasion-resistant 30-m-long (98-ft) insertion tube with a pneumatic articulation system and uses AC or battery power. Features include laser illumination technology that increases the brightness of the inspection area, a hand-held controller for manipulating scope articulation, and an integrated gravity sensor that provides on-screen orientation of the inspected image. The IPLEX YS also includes a lens-cleaning system, WIDER (wide dynamic extended range) image processing, and post-inspection analysis functions. It is suitable for use in harsh environments and has applications in many industries, including power generation.
