In addition to what is reported elsewhere in this section, the following developments have recently occurred in connection with applications for new reactor licenses, permits, and certifications. The contested hearing on Florida Power & Light Company's (FPL) proposed new reactors at the Turkey Point site will continue, as a result of a May 2 ruling by the presiding Atomic Safety and Licensing Board. A proposed contention by joint intervenors (two citizen organizations and two individuals), revised by the ASLB, has been admitted, alleging that the environmental report is deficient because it does not identify source data of the chemical concentration of ethylbenzene, heptachlor, tetrachloroethylene, and toluene in FPL's proposed deep injection wells.
