The lowest exposure ever for a refueling outage was recorded at Arizona Public Service Company's Palo Verde-1 in a refueling completed in November. The total dose of 20.6 rem eclipsed the old record of 28.2 rem, which was recorded in 2006 at Southern Nuclear Operating Company's Farley-2. More than 1000 people were involved in the Palo Verde-1 outage, with 106 424 person-hours spent in the radiological-controlled area. Unit I, a 1333-MWe pressurized water reactor, is one of three Combustion Engineering PWRs operating at the site near Wintersburg, Ariz.
