Areva goes to court on failed Temelin appeal

Following the rejection of Areva's latest appeal to the Czech Republic's regulatory authority, UOHS, regarding the decision of utility CEZ to disqualify the company's bid for the Temelin-3 and -4 contract, Areva has said that it will move to the courts to get the utility's decision reversed. Areva's July 26 announcement followed the rejection of Areva's latest appeal by Petr Rafaj, chairman of UOHS (the Office for the Protection of Economic Competition), who ruled that the decision UOHS made in February-that CEZ was not in breach of the public procurement law when it ex- cluded Areva from the tender process-was correct.
