Thirty-four senior enlisted staff instructors at the Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston in South Carolina have been expelled from the U.S. Navy as a result of an investigation into allegations of cheating on the engineering watch supervisor (EWS) exam, which is used to qualify sailors to train others in the operation of naval reactors (NN, Mar. 2014, p. 92). A report on the investigation, which was initiated by the Navy in February, was released in August. The investigation determined that the cheating had been going on for at least seven years.
