AREVA has developed a new automated tool for performing reactor inspections. The Lower Girth Weld Inspection Tool (LGWIT) enables nuclear reactor vessel inspections to be performed remotely through narrow gaps in the reactor vessel internals. Its remote operation eliminates the need for direct human intervention, resulting in increased efficiency and lower costs.
