Nuclear Engineering Services (NES) announced on May 23 that it has been acquired by the Italian firm Ansaldo Nu-cleare, a subsidiary of Ansaldo Energia. The acquisition is expected to allow Ansaldo Nucleare to offer a broader range of nuclear component design and engineering services to international markets, including in the United Kingdom, where NES is located. NES is currently undertaking a range of projects for the nuclear power industry and the defense sector, including the design, con- struction, and commissioning of three silo-emptying plants for remote material extraction at the United Kingdoms Sellafield site. According to NES, the acquisition is worth about €36 million (about $48.8 million).
