Ross project licensed; Dewey Burdock issued stay

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission on April 24 issued a materials license and record of decision for Strata Energy's Ross in situ uranium recovery facility, located in Crook County, Wyo. The Ross project is now authorized for operation and for the possession of uranium stores and by-product material. Strata Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Peninsula Energy Limited, submitted the license application for the Ross project in January 2011, and the NRC issued a final supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) in February (NN, Apr. 2014, p. 73). An NRC Atomic Safety and Licensing Board will hold a hearing on environmental contentions later this year.
