IAEA experts find national regulatory regime'robust'

The Czech nuclear regulatory system was called "robust" by an international team of nuclear safety and radiation protection experts, which also confirmed the independence and effectiveness of the country's nuclear regulator, the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SUJB). These were some of the preliminary findings set out by an Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) team of experts put together by the International Atomic Energy Agency following a 12-day mission in November to review the legal and regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety in the Czech Republic.
