Midwest education initiative expands to 49 new schools

The Energizing Student Potential (ESP) program, an initiative focused on bringing STEM education to students in northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, has expanded to serve students and educators in 84 schools, including 35 returning schools and 49 new schools, according to an October 25 press release from Exelon. Now in its second year, the education initiative was formed through the collaboration of six major energy companies that serve the area. The ESP program provides a curriculum of programs aimed at enhancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for fifth to eighth grade students and encouraging them to explore careers in STEM fields.
