On August 2, Jacobs Engineering Group and CH2M Hill Companies announced that the two companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Jacobs will acquire CH2M in a cash and stock transaction worth approximately $3.27 billion, including the purchase of approximately $416 million of CH2M's net debt. According to Jacobs, the acquisition better positions the company to realize significant growth in the government services sector by establishing Jacobs as a tier-one service provider to the global nuclear industry and significantly expanding its environmental capabilities.
