Let's go after asteroids. Gazillions of the dang things are out there, and one might be labeled Mammal Extinction. (Figuratively.) If asteroids could be trusted to stay between the Martian and Jovian orbits, well and good. But they can't. The consensus view is that one of them hit Earth 65 million years ago, creating conditions that wiped out the dinosaurs. (Skeptics could note that nobody has ever found a label stating Sauropod Extinction.)
