Rolls-Royce announced on September 26 that it has signed an agreement to sell its North American civil nuclear services businesses to Westinghouse Electric Company. This follows a review of options for the businesses and continues the company's drive to simplify the group and focus on meeting the needs of its customers, according to Rolls-Royce. The sale comprises civil nuclear services businesses in the United States and Canada, along with sites at Mondragon, France, and Gateshead, United Kingdom, which are currently part of the company's power systems business unit. The agreement does not include the instrumentation and controls business based in Grenoble, France, which remains under review. It also does not include the U.K. nuclear new-build operations or small modular reactor activities. In 2018, the businesses subject to the agreement reported revenues of $70 million.
