BHP Reports Lower Production at Olympic Dam in September Quarter,Shelves Olympic Dam Expansion

Global miner BHP reported uranium production of 874 tU_3O_8(1.93 million pounds U_3O_8) for its first quarter ended September 30, down 7 percent from the same period a year ago and down 14 percent form the previous quarter. The company reported higher uranium sales of 859 tU_3O_8 (1.89 million pounds U_3O_8) for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2021, 10 percent higher than sales during the previous quarter at 759 tU_3O_8 (1.67 million pounds U_3O_8) (Figure 1).
