Peninsula Energy recovered8,491 pounds U_3O_8 from its LanceProjects in the US State of Wyomingduring the second quarter endedJune 30, according to results released oJuly 30 (Figure 1).The 45 percent decline in outputcompared to the previous quarterreflects the natural decline of headgrades and the decision to reducechemical addition and, as a result,chemical costs. In February, as partof cost control measures, Peninsulaceased the injection of alkalinechemicals as the company advancesthe Project Transformation Initiativetoward a low pH lixiviant.
