There is still a long way to go to pass the laws necessary to allow U.S. companies to do nuclear business in India, a group of industry representatives said last week, marking just the latest hurdle in what has been a complicated and stunted race to get into the Indian nuclear market. The nuclear liability law that the Indian government has proposed to implement is grossly inadequate, and "if implemented, could really be a show-stopper," one liability law attorney said during a Civil Nuclear Trade Advisory Committee meeting in Washington, D.C. last week.
