A recent Eurobarometer survey found that 37% of European Union citizens are in favour of nuclear power, compared to 55% opposed. The latest Eurobarometer survey on radioactive waste has been greeted by the nuclear industry with an almost deafening silence! Whilst a statement was issued by European nuclear trade association Foratom, it was only on request. "We didn't put out a press release because there is nothing really earth-shattering in the survey," a Foratom spokesman explained to NEI.
